Video in 2025

It’s that time of year again, the time when Wyzowl publishes their annual Video Marketing Statistics.

Whilst this survey is aimed at marketing professionals and online consumers, it provides insight which we can use to create impactful videos within learning and development. Here are some of my key takeaways from this years results:

So how does this differ to 2024?

It appears we’re watching longer videos. Last year, respondents believed 30–60 second videos had the most success, but this has risen to 2 minutes.

Explainer videos were big in 2024, but they’ve become even more popular this year for explaining products, services, topics, and breaking down ideas.

95% of video marketers see video as an important part of their overall strategy.

I often wonder if video plays enough of a role within our L&D strategies. It’s clear that people what to find information this way, are we utilising the media enough to support our learners?
