Why use video?

We watch videos on a daily basis. If you’re not using it within your business, you’re missing out on a huge audience.

Video is much more accessible than it used to be, we consume it on any device, at any time, and in any place. With social media platforms prioritising this type of content, there’s never been a better way to reach your audience.

Research states that video increases product knowledge, leads and sales and gives a good return on investment. If that’s not enough, here’s three reasons why you should be using video more.

1. Video is entertaining

People love video because it’s an emotive medium. It captures our attention by telling stories. A story, mixed with moving visuals and sound, stimulates our senses, which helps us emotionally connect and keeps us watching. It’s also possible to engage other senses, such as taste and smell, to create a more memorable and entertaining experience.

2. Video builds trust

Video lets your audience see the authentic you. They get to build a personal connection with you and your business. Sharing product demos, how-to videos, or customer testimonials can increase brand awareness and demonstrate your expertise and knowledge. This builds trust with your audience, and you can then begin to influence their behaviour and/or purchasing decisions.

3. Video covers more

Videos allow our brains to process a lot of information in a short period of time. This means, you can include more content than you would in any other type of content. The mix of visuals, sounds, and storytelling techniques not only keeps us entertained, it also helps us retain the information. According to Forbes, your audience will remember 95% of your video, compared to 10% in text. So you can go into the detail, and be confident that your audience will remember it.
